Almost a year after the call by Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for the renewal of religious discourse and thought during the celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birthday in January 2015, observers believe that no significant change has been made in this regard, either by reviewing the curricula of Al-Azhar or renewal of extremist religious thought.
